How fat transfer works
Fat is harvested from a donor area (commonly the abdomen, flanks or thighs) using liposuction, then purified and carefully injected into the target area to restore or add volume. Because the fat is your own tissue, results generally have a natural look and feel.

What to expect
A consultation assesses available donor fat, treatment goals and target area anatomy. Because some transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed by the body, your surgeon will discuss expected retention and whether a second session may be needed to achieve your desired result.
